The Outlook Creative Group worked as creative/technical/production partners with DBMT, designing an end-to-end launch experience for the New Actros combining the launch of the truck, a series of follow-on business presentations and a Gala Dinner.
Built around the theme of “The New Dimension”, Outlook’s creative response focused on the evolution of the Mercedes-Benz Truck marque. Starting with the creation of a Mercedes-Benz ‘innovation gene’, each stage of the day followed and built upon a single creative style and theme.
Working hand in hand with DBMT, the Digital, Events and Video teams within Outlook worked together to deliver a large-screen, multi surface,projection mapping response based on the ‘birth of a totally unique commercial vehicle’.
The Outlook team created a bespoke environmental soundtrack for the day, 6 pieces of original music, multi surface projection and detailed vehicle projection mapping, through which the truck ‘built & customised’ itself. All lighting, sound, projection, rigging, structural build and rehearsals were carried within 24 hours of arrival on site. A separate hall was also set up for two large scale workshops on the morning of the event which also had to be turned around within 90 minutes to create an evening pre dinner function area with lasers, “tunnelwalk-through” and LED lit bar areas & tables.
The event exceeded expectations and went on to win “Automotive Event of the Year” at the C&IT Excellence Awards, held in London.
