I’m a Leicester lad, which means that as well as Walkers Crisps, Adrian Mole, and Kasabian, I’ve learnt to live with a footy team which is well, middling.
However, this week I was truly galvanized (and frankly amazed) to find that they’d bounced back in heroic style against one of the wealthiest and iconic teams the Premier League has to offer.
I’ll leave it to the pundits to espouse on tactics, penalties and the intricacies of the beautiful game. The thing that struck me was how uplifting it must be to have teetered on the brink of a much anticipated drubbing and turn back.
They can now reflect that no matter how bad it looks, and how daunting the opposition, they’ve been there, done that, and got the points to prove it.
Even in the toughest situations, here at Outlook we know that good old team work, experience and self-belief can make miracles.
