Auto Trader are the UK and Ireland’s largest digital automotive marketplace. Well-known advocates of electric vehicles, they attract an audience over 50 million cross-platform visits each month.
Auto Trader turned to us to bring some footage to life for a series of 90-second clips for Instagram. This was a real tongue-in-cheek, light-hearted project to work on, and having worked with Auto Trader previously on a similarly themed ‘Myth-Busting’ electric vehicles campaign, we couldn’t wait to get started.
Having received some comments on their social media channels, Auto Trader needed a brilliant, creative idea to put a fun spin on this feedback and help dispel any negativity around electric vehicles.
Once they had replied to the ‘Electric Sceptics’ comments, and invited them to a test track to put their opinions to the test, we were ready to step in and bring the footage to life.
Our Moving Image team worked their magic. Using colourful visual effects including lightning bolts and emojis, we added another layer of fun to the content.
We successfully added the final touches, delivering five animated clips for Auto Trader’s Instagram channel. The project as a whole was a fantastic example of how to turn negative feedback on its head with personality and creativity.
The design was perfect for the intended style and Auto Trader were delighted with both the results and the quick turnaround. The electric sceptics also had their minds changed, so mission accomplished all round.
