Welland Medical is a British manufacturing company established in 1988 and one of the leading ostomy brands in the UK and worldwide. They are an innovator in stoma care, specialising in the design, development and manufacture of stoma care appliances and accessories.
To provide and manage a 4-hour virtual event to include a platform and design, production and video services. This was to replace the client’s planned annual in-person event due to the challenges of Covid-19.
The key goals of the event were to launch a new product and provide an array of fundamental business updates to the client’s global distribution network and share best practices from country to country.
The interaction was key for this event in terms of the internal presenters with a change of MD and Head of Sales and Marketing and the audience themselves. Therefore it was important to utilise engagement tools such as Slido to allow two-way interaction.
Our tailored virtual event platform was fully branded, and we supported the marketing team with pre-event comms and delegate registration.
It was important to acknowledge and praise the support of the client’s global distributors as they confirmed true partnership through the diverse new ways of working to support patients and Health Care professionals through the adverse times of Covid-19. We worked with the marketing team to create a video to open the conference, which recognised the journey of employees and partners.
We created a pop-up studio in the client’s HQ that allowed the Welland Medical team to present ‘live’, separately and together for live Q&A sessions. It also allowed the team to present their new product launch, which included a mix of live and pre-recorded presentations from their Lead Design Engineer, QARA Manager and members of the marketing team, all of who played a key part in the launch.
We needed to create a visually safe and welcoming set considering the UK government covid-19 guidelines at the time of the event.
As we were covering multiple time zones and ensuring seamless broadcast transitions, we produced 8 pre-recorded VT’s, all filmed remotely across several countries.
We also produced news broadcast tickers to allow the audience to be informed what was coming next on quite a busy agenda and also complimented the professional TV broadcast production theme the client wanted to represent.
The solution enabled the client to broadcast to over 30 countries and over 200 delegates. This allowed the delegates to discover a new product range, engage with the latest company updates and share best practices globally with increased interactivity and engagement through live polling and Q&A’s.
Additionally, our bespoke platform has been the perfect home for all on-demand content and event playback for any delegates who wanted to view any part of the event again or for any delegates who weren’t able to watch live due to time zones or availability.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you from myself and the team for your help and support with our first Virtual Distributor Meeting! It was a great success for all and hopefully our paths will cross in the future! Please pass on our thanks to the wider team.Kirsty Robinson - Marketing Communications Executive - Welland Medical Limited
